The challenge
Tourism in the Algarve has to meet global expectations for personalised, efficient and sustainable visitor experiences. Regional stakeholders had interest in AI and robotics but limited access to technical knowledge, applicable case studies or implementation tools, and no way to align global trends with local business and policy realities.
What we did
- A structured, multi-phase methodology combining global trend analysis with regional case studies
- Technology landscape reviews, stakeholder consultations and cost-benefit assessment
- Developed with a regional technology company in cooperation with regional tourism actors
The outcome
A guide that lets tourism stakeholders identify, assess and implement AI and robotics technologies, with a technology map and an implementation roadmap sized to regional operators.
