A strategic plan for a regional technology ecosystem
Regional technology hub internationalisation strategy
A twelve-month Triple Helix consultation to diversify a tourism-dependent regional economy, covering talent attraction, infrastructure and international partnerships.
The challenge
The Algarve needed to diversify beyond tourism by building a sustainable technology hub. That meant attracting international investment, developing local talent, and integrating innovation-driven businesses into global markets, while building collaboration between academia, business and government that would outlast the project.
What we did
- Multi-stakeholder consultation using the Triple Helix model, integrating academia, business and government
- Data-driven analysis of the existing innovation ecosystem
- Comparative benchmarking, stakeholder interviews and international market trend analysis
The outcome
A strategic plan positioning the Algarve as a hub for international companies, remote workers and digital nomads, with talent attraction, infrastructure development and partnership design as its three pillars.
