Nordic wellbeing & sustainability programme

The challenge

The course had to make wellbeing, happiness and sustainability tractable for students from very different academic backgrounds, and address how Nordic economic models and social policies do or do not transfer to other socio-economic contexts.

How we worked

  • Six lectures drawing on research in subjective wellbeing, wellbeing economics and sustainability studies
  • Theory paired with real-world Nordic case studies
  • Case material from the UN World Happiness Report, the OECD Better Life Index and other indices
  • Delivered with Northeastern University’s programme coordination
